Bouquet Pop Up Card Tutorial

Bouquet Pop Up Card Tutorial

What You'll Need

Before you begin, gather these supplies to create your beautiful bouquet pop up card:

  • Bouquet Pop Up Card SVG or DXF cut files
  • Cutting machine
  • Cardstock for the card base
  • Colorful paper or cardstock for flowers and leaves
  • Fine-tip glue
  • Toothpick

Step 1: Prepare the Card Inside

Start by gluing the triangle bouquet decorations inside the pop up insert piece. Fold the pop up piece in half along the scoreline, carefully pulling the bouquet triangles forward so that the bottom of the bouquet pops forward when opened.

Next, fold the outside card piece in half along the scoreline. Place a small amount of glue on the back of the inside pop up piece and stick the two pieces together, matching the center fold lines.

Step 2: Create the Flowers

Fold along each score line on your flower pieces. Overlap the two end petals and glue them together to form the flower shape.

Add a small dot of glue to the center of a stamen piece, then use a toothpick to gently poke it down into the center of the open flower. Fold the flower flat and set it aside to dry.

Step 3: Assemble the Pop-Up Flower Piece

Step 4: Glue the Pop-Up Piece in Your Card

With the flower pop up piece still folded in half, place glue all over petals 3 and 4.

Place the flower pop up piece inside the card by lining up the fold of the flowers with the center scoreline and the bottom of the petals with the bouquet cut line. Close the card and place something heavy on it to hold it closed while the glue dries completely.

Step 5: Add the Leaves

While you wait for the glue to dry, slightly fold each leaf for added dimension. When the glue is dry, open the card. Arrange the leaves around the flowers by adding small amounts of glue to the back of each stem and attaching the stems to the card under the flower petals.

Make sure the leaves do not stick out of the card. If they do, reposition them until they fit neatly inside.

Step 6: Finishing Touches

Glue your chosen message—either "Happy Mother's Day" or "Thinking of You"—to the rectangle.

With the card closed, place the belly band behind the card. Fold the ends of the belly band forward and glue them to the back of the message rectangle. The belly band helps hold the card shut, but can be eliminated if you prefer. Instead, you can glue the rectangle and phrase directly to the card.
